Pranic
Healing - The Healing Arts
Presented
by
The Center for Pranic Healing and Wellness
Saturday,
11:00 am to 6:00 pm
Sunday,
10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Pranic
Healing is an ancient art and science of healing that uses the
body's own energy, or "prana," to restore health.
Prana, also known as "chi" or "life force energy,"
keeps the body alive and maintains a state of good health.
Pranic healing is a no-touch technique based on the fundamental
principle that the body is a "self-repairing" living entity
that possesses the innate ability to heal itself. Pranic
healing not only gently and effectively removes obstructions to the
natural flow of life force energy but replenishes this flow as well.
The
Center for Pranic Healing and Wellness is a not-for-profit
organization committed to serving the community by offering
opportunities to improve health and wellness. The Center offers
Pranic Healing clinics, meditations, children's programs, and
community workshops and lectures. The Center also sponsors
visiting Master Pranic Healers for special workshops and lectures.

Thai
Yoga Bodywork
(also referred to as Thai Massage)
Offered
during the Healing Arts times.
Saturday,
11:00 am to 6:00 pm
Sunday,
10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Traditional
Thai Yoga Bodywork is an ancient form of therapeutic healing. Its
roots are in India, from where it was brought to Thailand over 2000
years ago by traditional doctors of the region and Buddhist monks. In
a session, the therapist combines acupressure, energy balancing,
gentle stretching and applied yoga exercises. Clients describe it as
a massage, a yoga class and an energy work session rolled into one. |

Kirtan
Sunday,
10:00 am to 11:00 am
Kirtan
is the practice of chanting or singing Sanskrit mantra in a group
setting, usually in a call and response fashion. This is one of
the oldest sacred music traditions with roots in yoga. Sanskrit
has been referred to as the language of light. Because Sanskrit
lyrics are unfamiliar to many Westerners, repetitive chanting of
these words can help quiet the constant chatter of the mind.
Through Kirtan, many are able to reach a meditative state, a more
open heart and greater awareness of the present moment. The
chanting also serves to reconnect each person to his or her spiritual
center. Everyone is welcome to participate. No previous
experience is necessary. The Kirtan will be facilitated by the
Pensacola-based group, Sharanahathi. |
